Hunting Festival
When: rare. Expect roughly once every three months or longer — it is explicitly not monthly, and it appeared only twice in seven months of continuous play. What it is: you spend sandwiches to hit goblins with a hammer. Every hit pays. Why it matters: the most rewarding event in the game, with exclusive cosmetics you cannot get anywhere else. When it appears, clear your schedule.
The short version¶
- Spend sandwiches the moment you get them — the speed-ups they drop feed King of Festival points, which generate more sandwiches.
- Farm sandwiches from every source, not just daily tasks.
- Prioritise the Goblin General — more hits, better rewards, better Sandwich Treasure odds.
- Save the materials each King of Festival stage needs for that stage.
- Clear all free content before spending anything.
- No participation limit within a run. The ceiling is your sandwich supply.
Why this event is worth rearranging your week for¶
Most events here are gated — a difficulty tier, a prize you have to find, a bracket you cannot reach. The Hunting Festival is close to pure conversion: sandwiches in, rewards out, with a payout on every hit, and no cap on participation within a run.
It also carries exclusive cosmetics, and skins in this game are not purely cosmetic — several carry bonus stats that raise troop strength.
The core loop¶
20 sandwiches per hammer hit. That is the whole exchange rate.
The Goblin General is the target worth hunting: it takes more hits, drops better rewards, and repeated hits improve your chance at the Sandwich Treasure. Do not spread your hits evenly across ordinary goblins when the General is up.
Where sandwiches come from — the full list¶
This is where most players leave value on the table. Sandwiches come from:
- Diamonds
- Using speed-ups
- Defeating wild monsters
- Gathering resources
- The event sub-modes (Puzzle Battle and King of Festival)
- Shop packs
Older guides list only daily tasks and the Puzzle Battle. That is a small fraction of the real supply. Speed-ups and gathering in particular are large, controllable sources — see the settled entry 018 in the conflicts register.
The compounding tip, and the single best piece of advice on this event: spend sandwiches immediately. Hits drop speed-ups; using speed-ups generates King of Festival points; King of Festival points generate more sandwiches. Hoarding sandwiches breaks the loop. Convert as you go.
The sub-modes¶
King of Festival — 6 days, 6 themed stages, with daily leaderboard rewards and up to 300 hero shards at the end. This is the largest single reward block in the event.
Save the materials each stage needs for that stage. Same hoard-then-spend logic as the alliance duel: the stage themes are known in advance, so bank what each one scores and dump it on the right day.
Puzzle Battle — the grid structure also used in Carnival Night and Core Mining. Completing missions clears fields; rows and the full board pay sandwich bonuses. Work toward completions, not scattered clears.
Hunt Pass — free, silver and gold tracks, levelled by hammer hits. Paid tracks add exclusive emotes and a 14-day plus 3-day trial skin.
Festival Purchases — purchases grant event shovels, and 1,000 shovels grants an exclusive legendary marching queue skin. This is a spend track with no free path.
Tactical notes¶
Clear all free content before spending. Obvious, routinely ignored, and the free tracks are substantial here.
Keep trial skins in reserve. If you are chasing a top-10 finish and miss it, an unused trial skin is your consolation. Burning it early leaves you with nothing.
Common mistakes¶
Treating it as optional because it is unfamiliar. Most players have never run it. It is the highest-value event in the rotation.
Hoarding sandwiches. Breaks the speed-up → points → sandwiches loop. Spend as you earn.
Farming sandwiches only from daily tasks. You are ignoring most of the supply.
Spreading hits across ordinary goblins while the General is up.
Spending on packs before clearing the free tracks.
Dumping King of Festival materials on the wrong day. Six themed stages, known in advance. Plan.
